My reasoning is based on the combination of a number of different factors, of which their NFL draft standing is just one. Stafford came on strong his Jr year, but struggled as a true Fr. That Jr season, combined with his pre-draft measurables pushed him to the #1 pick. Fromm was way better as a true Fr, and as a So. But Stafford obviously has become a great pro QB.

And Murray is not the all time leader in "every single stat". He's the career passing yardage leader, and career TD leader. He's not the leader in yds/attempt. He's not top 5 in adjusted yds/att. He's not top 10 in completion %, and he's not top 5 in career QBR. His TD/Int ratio is less than 3 which is way below Fromm's which is over 4. As soon as Fromm gets 700 attempts (he's at about 600 right now), he'll be above Murray in most or all of those stats. One factor is how does a player elevate his team. Murray quarterbacked both a 7-loss season and a 5-loss season. I doubt Fromm will do that.
