I expect Kirby to still have a heavy hand on the defense. I also think Schumann is going to be his protege and will be a DC before long. From what I heard, there were three people involved in the defensive gameplanning at Alabama: Saban, Smart, and Schumann.

I have a buddy involved with the Alabama program and he said Schumann is Smart's right hand man.
