Looking back at Sabans first recruiting class in 2007, and about
half where recruited by Shula, only 2-3 players became starters for Saban. Then he signed 31 players in 2008, this was the foundation for all the Bama success to date. Reason I looked back was to compare Kirbys first class and current roster. Looks to me Kirby is telling all the recruits he will sit down and evaluate if they fit in his plans for offense or defense. The 2016 class might be very good if he can land some of the 4-5 star players he's after, but he won't recruit a bunch of bodies for practice players. I think he does what Saban did and brings in a loaded 2017 class.
