Kirby has a huge advantage that Saban didn't have...

He takes his head coaching job already familiar with the current & future talent available. He's been recruiting & evaluating most of these kids for years. Not only the 2016 & 2017 kids, but the guys on his new roster.

Additionally, he has the advantage of having just coached against his new team.

I think he'll sign an elite 2016 class that will be ready to begin the foundation of his era.

None of the kids Saban recruited when he first got the Bama job knew him, & he didn't know them. Kirby already has relationships with many of his 2016 targets.
