While there have been many alarming things regarding Obama, I'm still more inclined to be less condescending of his POTUS years because he was never given a chance from across the aisle. The resistance and obstruction he and the Nation has endured from the Pubs was immediate and has been unparalleled! Given the political tit-for-tat that has driven platforms for the last 35 years, I suspect the Dems will be sharpening their Congressional swords for the next power swing.

I agree that the Dems have an anti-establishment problem brewing. Hell, the fact that a mid-70's, self-proclaimed Socialist, Jewish Yankee rising to such a level of national politics is a bellwether moment in it's own right. Comparatively speaking, the Dems have decades of future degradation before they reach the epic Charlie Foxtrot that is the Pubs!
