If I remember correctly, congress would not allow interstate commerce on the Obama health care act. This and I suppose other shenanigans from our elected officials doomed any chance of health care coverage being affordable.
I do like the idea of the health care exchange. Get gov't regulations out of it and there may be a chance for success.
I still remember from my early days when my health care deduction was about $10 for a biweekly paycheck. All of a sudden in the mid 80s health care costs started shooting up and haven't stopped since.
My son wants to change jobs right now, but is concerned his healthcare won't be the same at the next job. Nobody ever thought of this in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. I didn't even use insurance to pay for office visits. I just paid the $20.
