Commissioner Sankey,
You have encountered your first crisis and you failed. There were several options available to play the UF-LSU game but you did nothing to make any of them happen. It was obvious that Foley was trying to avoid playing the game this weeked but you failed to force his hand.
Many teams in FL played football this weekend. Some UF teams flew out to play games elsewhere.
Now you threaten to inconvenience others by allowing UF to avoid playing while their injured have time to heal and/or to gain an advantage in schedule to get to the SEC CG.
The Baton Rouge community is reeling from floods, over 100,000 people displaced. Baton Rouge, and LSU, cannot afford to lose a home game due to Foley's manipulation. Even if LSU were reimbursed, the community would lose millions. Estimates of economic impact of an LSU home game are $7mil to $15mil. We in Baton Rouge cannot afford that.
I see that today is a beautiful day in Gainesville, just as Saturday was. Monday night will also be beautiful. I'm sure Foley and the UF team will enjoy it while they get better. Meanwhile those of us in Baton Rouge are steaming, waiting for the next shoe to drop.
Please do not further abuse LSU/Baton Rouge with your next decision.
Thank you.
