And about a 50% bump in salary


His salary was just over $1Mil his last year at Marquette, with bonuses pushing that to about 1.9. His salary his 1st year at VT was about $2.3M with bonuses pushing it to about 2.8.

The VT Athletic department makes a LOT more money than Marquette. While our AD makes more than VT, we are notoriously stingy when it comes to basketball. He has a guaranteed contract at VT which has him earning well over $3Mil a year. He's turned the program into a consistent winner, and they're willing to bend over backwards to keep him. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to hire him, but it ain't gonna happen.
