The "new hoops" just aren't enough to force an established practice out of business. They're just not. To be perfectly honest, it's really pretty ludicrous to think so.

Everyone has their reasons for retiring, or closing up shop, or changing careers, or whatever. But if your Dr is telling his patients that new reporting requirements are forcing him out of practice, I'd be leery of that. I'd say it's much more likely he just doesn't want to say what the real reason is. And maybe it's a good reason he just doesn't want to publicize. But I doubt it's really ACA.
