I've said it before, Kirby is our Spurrier

He's eager to take our historic frustrations and burn them in the forge of our improved program because he is one of us. Our rivalries are his rivalries, he is as motivated to see slights and abuses of the past avenged in full as much as we are.

He's not as much of a smartass as Spurrier, but he has every bit the focus and attention to detail - with the added bonus of being a fanatical recruiter, something that Spurrier - even at the height of his evil powers - liked least about his job.
