Clemmons coach Swinney takes shot at Georgia (link)
Maybe because his team beat the team that Georgia, Dabo Swinney felt like taking a shot at Georgia. To be fair, South Carolina, which upset Georgia 20-17 in Athens earlier in the season, was pummeled 38-3 at home in Columbia. Maybe, but Swinney still boldly spoke against Georgia. But why?
Was Swinney trying to create a story about some perceived anti-ACC slant? His words indicated so, as Swinney talked specifically about the committee trying to help Georgia, but not his team.
I have to say, I don´t know where that comment came from, because while Georgia lost and fell in the rankings, Swinney apparently thinks Georgia does not deserve credit for recovering and fighting their way back.
Curiously, Georgia is ranked behind Clemson in the CFP rankings, and Clemson has a similar opportunity to make the playoffs as ACC Champions as would Georgia as SEC Champions. Why then does Swinney take a swing at Georgia?
The politicking has already gotten started and is a little whacked. If Georgia gets a chance to play Clemson, that could be interesting.
