Huh? Scott Cochran offered to be UGA special teams coach
Don´t know about you but offering anyone from Bama any position as special teams let alone someone who has never coached is a head-scratcher. I am one of those who often take the "let´s see" approach but this one is a bit numbing.
For one thing, Bama has routinely been bad even atrocious on special teams, so bringing anybody in from that organization to fill that role is highly speculative.
For another, I just really wish that coach Smart would dissassociate from the "gotta copy Bama" routine. That gets old. Him acting like Saban or even nuttier on the sideline. For someone who hasn´t won a natty, he sure seems to stretch that imitation thing a bit too much. Be your own man, coach Smart, and go you own way. Otherwise Saban will always be able to predict what you next move is. Please, just stop.
I don´t want to be like Bama, I want to be Georgia, and I do not care for anything else that even remote resembles them. Go you own way, make your own path, create your own design. Sheez.
Lastly, Scott Cochran mocked UGA in 2008 during the week leading up to the Bama-UGA game in which he said the black jerseys must mean that Georgia is going to a funeral. I have never liked him ever since and was happy that he turned down Smart´s first offer to come to UGA in 2016.
