It's common for ex-coaches to refrain from recruiting committed guys

At their former school. A professional courtesy but certainly no rules against it. Uncommitted guys are always fair game. With this, and his choosing not to coach his guys in the bowl game, Richt has consciously severed any ties beyond nostalgia, which is fine for all parties really.
