Georgia fed on cupcakes, middling SEC teams and pretty much won all of those. We also manhandled Tech during Richt's tenure. Where Georgia failed miserably was on the big stage against the big boys of the SEC (with a few exceptions like LSU a few years ago or owning Auburn for the last several years). We also had 1 or 2 real head scratchers each season. When we lost - the fan base was like "WTF just happened?".

Yes - we won the east a few times, but frankly, should have dominated the east the last 5 years. DOMINATED! Every one else was down or rebuilding or firing coaches, but CMR fell flat time and time again. We were left praying for someone to lose so we could sneak into the SECCG. Even then, Mizzou still snuck in several times... even when we beat the shiznit outta them.

So, winning percentage shows something, but not everything. And - yes - to me winning Championships is VERY important.
