Yes, started by tech fans
I was there in the days of the old vent when Richt was hired. He was outspoken about his faith and tech fans threw the reverend tag on there as a sarcastic jab.
Richt had three major things that were his undoing.
1. He had multiple games a season where the team just did NOT show up. They were poorly prepared and looked lost. Usually it was against a ranked opponent but also it happened with teams we should have beaten easily. This was a theme for him.
2. He hired and held on to toxic assistant coaches way too long. This stubbornness was infuriating to me and made me scream and cuss at the TV.
3. Bizarre in game decisions including but not limited to time clock management snafus, electing to kick a FG when the kicker has been awful, throwing a 30 yard incompletion on 3rd and short and of course calling time outs because we couldn't get the play in (sometimes followed by ANOTHER time out!!!)
Never once have I seen him lose because of his professed faith. I'll not miss Richt at all. But I'll never understand why his pride in his faith was a negative thing unless someone just hates Christians. [Post edited by GibsonDawg at 02/26/2016 9:33PM]
