Bingo
I don't work in the healthcare field, but I have several close friends who do. The bottom line is that the biggest problem with our health care system is that the people making the most money in the system are not health care people. They are not doctors or nurses, but executives of the large healthcare corporations. They are not medical researchers, but corporate managers of the insurance and HMO conglomerates. They are not lab chemists but directors of the pharmaceutical companies, etc, etc. Those are the people who hate ACA the most.
Now yeah, I know that's how it goes in just about every industry in the world, but in our health care system, it got way beyond ridiculous decades ago.
I agree that we're still fleshing out ACA, but one of my good friends does cost and coverage analyses for the CDC and WHO. He said that it is undeniable that ACA is the main reason that health care cost growth has slowed over the last few years, and coverage has increased. He voted for Romney, btw. In the final analysis, I'd say that ACA has it's flaws, but overall it will be a success. So instead of dumping the baby out with the bathwater, like the Pubs want to do, just fix the problems with it.
And I'm with you on corporate welfare & infrastructure!
