How different is this from Kirby's own rule?

Didn't Kirby say he wouldn't release any players to go to another SEC School, or to anyone on our schedule, or to Miami to follow Richt?

The guy seems like a good player, and I'd love to get him, but I'm not sure this is much out of the ordinary. Did the guy Saban release to MIzzouri have some special circumstance? I'm not familiar with that case.
