Looking at the national stat rankings...
Below, olddawg posted that we are currently 85th in scoring offense & 89th in scoring defense. Apologies olddawg... I confess I did not think it could be that bad, maybe you had misread it. Nope, it's that bad.
Looking at the schedule, the stat rankings of who we've played so far & those to come, looks like good news for the defense & bad news for the offense going forward.
For our defense--the nat'l ranks of the scoring offenses we've already played:
21 Ole Miss
27 UNC
39 Missouri
55 Tennessee
Going forward:
61 Auburn
74 Florida
79 ULaLa
92 Kentucky
97 Ga Tech
115 Vandy
126 Sc
Everybody left has a (currently) lower ranked offense than all the P5 teams we've played. So hopefully the D can post some better numbers going forward.
The bad news is for our offense, which has already enjoyed facing scoring defenses #77 Ole Miss & #90 UNC. The 4 most highly ranked defenses on our schedule are still to come, all in the Top 25:
04 Florida
15 Auburn
21 Ga Tech
23 South Carolina
50 Vandy could also be tough
101 ULaLa
102 Kentucky bring up the rear
Of course all these #s will shake out some, but it's a decent snap shot of a little less than half the season.
We're going to have to win low scoring games, bc our OLine is going to get massacred going forward.
