I think you should have higher expectations for 2017...

Year two is very often a "leap" year for new coaches. I'm thinking of Saban in 2008, Richt in 2002, Meyer in 2006. Usually, you start to see big improvement in year two, just from the players buying into the new system more. Kirby might not be winning any championships, but he should have them playing better next year. If they look this bad in 2017, that would be cause for concern.
