I think it depends on what you expect, next year....

CKS made plenty of mistakes this year. So, for that matter, did the team. Converting from not only one system to another, but an entire coaching staff was bound to create issues, missed opportunities, and the resulting losses. All three things will/should be reduced next season.

Kirby's a smart guy, and I think he'll grow into the job. I personally like his attitude. He's never happy with something that's going on, and doesn't mind saying so to the media. He wants no one to be comfortable.

He also wants to improve the team through better line play. We saw brief glimpses of that today, but we couldn't do it consistently.

Of course, he sold his first-year soul for a freshman QB. We saw all year his growing pains. It's on Eason to improve next year, or Jake Fromm could be waiting to take his place.

Smart will figure things out, I think. His first year is officially "almost" done. He's headed out on the recruiting trail, and has a great product to sell.

Next year, we will hopefully see improvement in the O-line, WRs, and most importantly, the QB. Coaches usually get smarter when their players get better.
