Well ...
Like you, I worry about my memory, so I went and dug up my old Media Guides from when I had season tickets. They list the attendance for every game (home and away).
The tech game was actually Tubby's 2nd home game, but it indeed was a sellout like I remembered (10,523 attendance). We had 8 SEC home games. The lowest attendance was Vandy with 6,854. That's still over half full. Next lowest was Tennessee at 7,647, and Ole Miss at 8,016. Every other conference game was over 9,000, with UK a sellout, and Fla & USC both over 10,000. His 2nd season was more of the same. The lowest SEC game was Fla at 7,034. UK & USC were sellouts and Auburn was close at 10,097. The exhibitions, and some of the non-con patsies were lower (Mercer, Jax St, E.Carolina, Ga St, etc), but for the most part Tubby pulled in big crowds.
I didn't see media guides that old online anywhere, so sorry I don't have a link. But you should be able to verify those numbers if you care to.
