That's kinda the idea. Everyone would play each division opponent twice and each team from the other division once. That way everyone in each division has a balanced schedule every year. Now, it's a crapshoot.
Obviously, the best case is to play everyone in the whole conference twice (home & away), but with expansion, there are just too many teams in the SEC to do that. That'd be 26 conference games.
But for us to play the top 3 teams twice, and 4 of the top 5, while some teams play the bottom dwellers twice just doesn't make sense.
