I checked the Media Guide

and the Spring media guide from last year. They both had basically the same bio for him. And like you said, they both listed him as a 5-star from 247, but they both listed him as a 4-star from ESPN, Rivals and Scout. So, I don't know.

Whatever the case, at this point, stars don't matter for anything. By the time Fall rolls around, he'll have been here over a year and a half, with a full season, two full springs, and two full off-season programs under his belt. You are exactly right - It's time to step up and produce or get left behind.

We could certainly use him on the line, and I'm sure he could use that cash the NFL will be willing to throw his way if he does step it up.
