Points taken...and honestly, from a public institution point of view we are
dancing in rare air. Our admission standards as high as any upper tier public school in North America. We use to be behind UF, UVA, tOSU, TAMU...and on paper we are slightly behind...but one has to consider that those schools have medical schools, engineering schools on their campuses....and the way schools are measured, outside of student scores and grade metrics, is research money. Taking our individual schools and colleges alone, we are top tier, but without the medical school and the engineering school...we are still sitting just on the periphery of the very top.
You could say the same as your comparison about Vandy as you could say about comparing us to GT.
