is getting Oklahoma into 3rd down. Mayfield's stats are very good on 1st & 2nd down, but they drop like a rock on 3rd down (Fromm has better stats on 3rd down than Baker: yards, comp%, QB Rat, etc). I've been watching some Oklahoma replays on YouTube and one thing that stands out is how much time Mayfield typically has to throw, and how wide open his WRs typically are.

If we can get some pressure on him, and tighten some of the windows he's had to throw to, and/or punish the WRs for making a catch (like we've done a lot of) then we can handle their offense. It really is that simple. Easier said than done, yeah, but those are two things our defense has done a good job of this season. We do that and we win. Maybe by a bunch.

Also, everyone is talking about strength on strength in this game which is their offense vs our defense. Some people are talking about weak vs weak which would be our offense vs their defense. What I haven't heard much talk about is special teams. I think we may have a huge advantage there. Their punt and KO return defense vs our punt & Kick returns as well as vice-versa should give us an advantage in the hidden yardage and/or field position game.
