Rest easy, my man
As the other old man said, we’re playing with house money. But we’re not done yet. No one knows what's gonna happen in the game, that’s why they play ‘em. So what you can do is look at probabilities and likelihoods.
Don’t get me wrong, Oklahoma has an excellent team. And if we come out looking like we did in Auburn pt 1, we’re gonna get beat. But if we come out as prepared and as motivated as we did in 12 of our 13 games so far this season, we’ll win. I have a very high level of confidence that Kirby will have the team do just that.
If you have watched Oklahoma this season, you’ve noticed that Mayfield typically has a lot of time to throw the ball, and he typically throws to wide open receivers who then bust off big chunks of yardage after the catch. If we can pressure him, close his passing windows, and/or blow up their receivers after the catch (which we've done a good job of), we will make it tough on their offense. Also, no one seems to want to admit this, but our offense vs their defense favors us more so than their offense vs our defense does them. I feel pretty confident that our 5 headed RB monster can gash their defense more so than their Heisman & company can gash ours. Pretty much any stat you want to look at will show that. And pretty much any film you break down will show you that as well. And that’s not even looking at special teams, where they are just plain awful.
Sit back, pour yourself a beverage, and relax. We got this.
