The inexperienced healthy WRs that played vs Texas A&M did what they could

...those that played helped. Pickens had two big catches, and his TD catch was a difference maker. If not mistaken, on that same drive Fromm connected with both Tyler Simmons and Kearis Jackson to get into the redzone. The only other players that may have caught passes were Dominic Blaylock, Charlie Woerner and one or two of our runningbacks could have caught a pass but did not (in the case of a bad throw to a wide open wheel route to Brian Herrien and a neglected opportunity to a wide-open James Cook).

I think people need to realize that Texas A&M wasn´t exactly chopped liver. They were not intimidated by us and caught us at a time we have been trying to surface for air. I am glad and thankful we still won.

As far as James Coley, maybe the offensive line played better with Chaney and Pittman together, who knows. Those two had continuity together and I don´t think Pittman is creating interference, only trying to help out. It is a staff that communicates, and a staff with a new leader. Since game 1 we have struggled getting plays in and other nuances of having a new system in place.

And it´s not all on Jake Fromm, either. Can you imagine what kind of season we´d be having if we had an inexperienced player behind center? I think we should be very thankful for this and know that Fromm is not out there farting around.

As a whole, I think this offense is just going through growing pains. We have had injuries at OL, WR and RB. You add in the safety net in a pretty good defense, who rightfully could blame Smart if he is playing ultra conservatively? But that notion is debunked from the play designs seen in the last three games.

This is more about growth and execution. There have been some missed opportunities that called plays cannot be blamed for. Coley may have been on staff since 2016, but this is a new offensive system, after all. It is not exactly like last years, or 2016-2018, although there are some similarities. Like a lot of fans, I am very hopeful for the chemistry to start surfacing soon.
