We usually stay at a Hampton Inn off of I-75 on Elkhorn.

This is on the SE side of Lexington. Nearby are all the fast food and mid-level chain restaurants you can shake a stick at.

If you want to go more upscale, I would go to Malone's. Top of the line steaks and seafood. Very nice place with a large bar and is covered with autographed photos of Kentucky people and former players (of course being UK it's 90% basketball photos).

It's all off of Thoroughbred (?). All of the streets through there are named after horses.
