Given the in-state recruiting and the huge amount of money our Ath Dept makes, there's no reason in the world why we shouldn't field a competitive team on a regular basis. None. But here we are once again, near the bottom of the standings. We struggle every single stinkin' year in Basketball. History? Where was Arkansas before Eddie Sutton? Where was Florida before Lon Kruger? Where was Georgetown before John Thompson? Where was Gonzaga before Fitzgerald? Where was Oregon before Dana Altman? The list goes on and on. None of those places, save maybe Florida, have better in-state recruiting than we do or make more money in the AD (well, except for Oregon with all that Nike money). I've said it before and I'll say it again, but Georgia Basketball has more unrealized potential than any program in any sport at any level anywhere in the country.

I like Fox, and like you I think he's done a good job getting us to being consistently mediocre (as opposed to bouncing between mediocre and awful). But like Richt, he's plateaued. We've got the money, and a good enough returning nucleus, to attract a good coach. We've seen glimpses with Tubby & Harrick. The right guy can realize that potential.
