Eason compared to Stafford
If you read the comments of the latest AJC ramblings about our QB, you would think Stafford was all everything in comparison to Eason. But I remember it differently and we complained mainly about 3 things with Stafford, 1. He often overthrew the ball; 2. He threw into coverage, forcing the ball where he could have thrown to a safer, open receiver; and, 3. He often lacked touch, throwing fastballs when touch was called for. And he did this until he left. If you listen to the commentary like a certain football guru with the name of Clint, you hear how Stafford was light years ahead of Eason at the end of his 1st year. It is not true. He fully expects Fromm to come in and beat Jason for the starting position and he thinks Jake has the moxie Eason is lacking. Sorry, but while I think Jake is going to be great for us, we will be in deep crap if he beats out Jason this year. Eason had a good year and if you factor in a SEC freshman, a bizarre offensive coordinator play calling plan all year, the zillion drops, and the crappy offensive line, he was close to being great for a freshman.
