My way-too-early analysis of UGA-AU (with a focus on AU), is...
Let's face it - Auburn can play. Defense is stout. Offense is equal parts confusing and dynamic. They give lots of eye-candy motion. But's been AU's defense that has won the big games for them.
What's not been mentioned, and what my point of this post is, is that Auburn has won these big games AT HOME.
It is hard to win on the road in the SEC. It's even harder to win on the road in the SEC against a really good team, which Auburn is. And it's even harder still, to beat a good team on the road in the SEC when not only is the team motivated, but the fans can make a difference.
Fans can virtually lift a team, especially when the home team is on defense. Motivated, no, inspired play occurs when a team can literally FEEL the stands behind them. And that's what has carried Auburn the last two SEC games.
But all that changes next week. While it's not a true "road" game, it sure isn't a home game. I think one of the big things that will help UGA is a loud crowd to affect not only AU's offense, but affect Georgia's defense. We as a crowd must be vocal. No, we must be loud.
Couple that with the revenge factor, and I think UGA has a more than even chance at the Final Four.
But as I said, it's way too early.
