It usually boils down to execution....
To the extent that a home crowd or road environment helps or hurts someone's ability to concentrate, then it can certainly impact a game. So, Georgia gets Auburn on a neutral field. Great. Now they have to block, tackle, catch a pass, throw a pass, make a kick, field a punt, avoid hitting out of bounds, and all the things that they probably routinely do in practice.
Georgia is as talented as Auburn. They just need to play with more poise than they did a few weeks ago, and they'll have a chance. If both teams bring their best game, it will go into the fourth quarter. I probably will pick Auburn, because they have looked very good lately, including against Georgia. But they've lost twice this year. So, they're not some untouchable team.
