Clemson has one or two of those games every year. They actually lost at home to Pitt in 2016, when they beat Bama. Two years ago, they lost to Syracuse, and ended up in the playoffs. Last year, they almost lost at home to Syracuse. And Pitt and Syracuse are great teams said no one ever.

It certainly wasn't due to UNC being great. Didn't UNC get stomped by App State?
