I'd agree with you except for a few points:
1) Recruits aren't going to give Kirby 3 years.
2) With the exception of OL, Richt did not leave the team without talent.
3) The rest of the SEC east is down
4) We had an extraordinary retention rate of key experienced players
5) We gave Richt far too long to prove he had the x factor. We don't want to make the same mistake with Kirby. If he's got championship potential as a coach, he's got everything he needs to succeed now, including administration support Richt never had.
6) This team is FAR more talented than the team Saban inherited at Bama.
Part of the UGA mediocrity problem are us fans. We've been willing to accept mediocrity far too easily and for far too long. We're always making excuses for our understated facilities, lack of spending, our coaches lack of championships, our stricter drug rules, etc. Then convincing ourselves not to expect the best. I did that too with Richt because I really liked and respected him. But UGA has obviously turned over a new leaf with more spending, facilities, larger staff, and full support for Kirby, so now, we've got to do our part. If Kirby's "all that" he should be able to respond to the pressure fans and recruits will level on him this year. [Post edited by CyberDawg at 07/08/2017 08:42AM]
