game on the Plains. After the game they were down where the team was leaving the field. Someone yelled out to Jake Scott, "Which bowl are we going to" and Jake replied "Orange Bowl, Baby!".

The Orange Bowl had announced that they wanted the winner of Georgia-Auburn.

We held Auburn to about 100 yards of offense that afternoon. Late in the game the frustrated Auburn students started throwing oranges at the Georgia bench. The oranges they had brought to celebrate their victory. After the game was over, some of the Georgia players took the oranges and unloaded on the Auburn students.

Unfortunately, Dooley had cut a deal with the Sugar Bowl that they would take us win or lose against Auburn.

We went to New Orleans and stunk up the place. The team really didn't look like they wanted to be there.

Such are bowl games sometimes.
