I think this can be interpreted differently

Richt's players were recruited by others but they didn't go with the others. They came to Georgia. Different coaches have different personalities and Richt and Smart and all coaches are different. There is a comfort zone and climate in which players fit or don't fit.

Sometimes players just don't mesh with certain coaches, philosophies, and programs. That is what I think people mean when they say "Richt's players." It isn't an insult or affront to Richt or Smart.
