He's a very good coach. But Thornwell is an all-time great for that program, conference POY, a truly amazing all around talent that can dominate games at both ends of the floor.

He's also maybe the national MVP, by which I mean no other player may be as valuable to his team.

Martin is a great coach, but Thornwell is an elite difference maker. Remember, he was suspended for the 2nd half of their OOC schedule. They went 3-3 without him. They won a bunch of close SEC games when he came back and had dominating performances. They aren't close to the Dance without him.
