They had 3 years & 6 years HC experience respectively. Let's at least stick to comparing apples to apples.

I understand that some believe UGA should not be a place for rookie coaches to learn on the job, and that's a valid point.

But what's done is done. Like all HCs who are brand new, Kirby has learning to do, and he likely won't learn it all in Year 2 either.

Our many dear rivals have unanimously branded Kirby a complete failure, because... obviously... Kirby was as good a coach his 1st years as he will ever be, right? I mean... that's just sound logic. (/sarcasm)

Actually, I can't think of a rookie HC in the SEC who had more roster issues to deal with Kirby did:

Fr QB
Total lack of SEC offensive tackles
Butter fingers WRs
4 Fr rotating heavily on the DL
Secondary with size/length issues

Yet so many people seem to expect Kirby to have sprung forth, like some mythological god of old, fully formed from the bowels of Zeus (Saban) with a deep, talented roster and a decade of championship HC experience.

When this guy plugs the holes and polishes his craft there are going to be a lot of shocked haters.
