I didn't "base an entire concrete belief" on a statistic. I based it on how unorganized and poorly coached our team was this past year. Everybody remembers the Tenn game because of the Hail Mary sure, but we lost that game because we couldn't get guys on and off the field when Tenn was in the red zone. We got blasted by Ole Miss because we never recognized breakdowns in their coverages. We lost to Vandy for the same reason - should have never come down to that 4th down play, and on and on. Bottom line: we were poorly coached. Some coaches recognize their failures and correct them, but the truth is most don't (which is what that stat demonstrates). Mark Richt never corrected his inability to manage late game situations, and it cost him.

Look, I hope Kirby proves me wrong, and like I said in an earlier post, I'll gladly admit it if he does. But going back to your original post, we should absolutely set our expectations on winning the East. No one in the division is any juggernaught, we've out-recruited everyone else, and we've got an easy schedule. Florida plays LSU & A&M from the West, Tenn plays Bama & LSU. We've got Auburn & Miss St. Big advantage us.
